The Institute of Directors of Zambia (IoDZ) held its prestigious Corporate Governance Awards
The Institute of Directors of Zambia (IoDZ) held its prestigious Corporate Governance Excellence Awards on 6th June 2025 at the Avani Victoria Falls Resort in Livingstone, recognising outstanding leadership, ethical governance, and boardroom excellence across Zambia.
Zambia National Commercial Bank (ZANACO) emerged as the recipient of the Best Overall Corporate Governance Award, praised for its high standards of transparency, effective board practices and exemplary institutional leadership.
In the individual categories, Ngosa Chisupa was honoured with the Outstanding Director’s Award for his commitment to integrity and strategic corporate governance. Mutisunge Zulu received the IoDZ Rising Star Award, while Monde Mushambatwa Kanyanga was awarded the Sombo’s Award, both recognised for their emerging leadership in corporate governance.
The prestigious IoDZ President’s Award was presented to Glenn Mwika for his sustained and impactful contributions to advancing good corporate governance in Zambia.

As part of the celebrations, eleven IoDZ members were conferred as Fellows of the Institute, a mark of honour and recognition for their leadership and dedication to governance. The new Fellows are:
Austin H. Muhyila, Bonna Kashinga, Chalwe Mwale, Dr. Chimuka Leo Haamukwanza, Eng. Elliot Mumba, Gershom Tanga, Jetty Lungu, Moffat Nyirenda, Mwale Muloyi Tembo, Sitali Wamundila, and Leonard Sepe.
The event reaffirmed IoDZ’s commitment to promoting sound corporate governance, effective directorship and ethical leadership across Zambia’s corporate and public sectors.
